Head of Operations - Software Development

Our client, a well-established operator in the iGaming industry, are seeking a Head of Operations (Development Team) to take ownership of the day-to-day running of the Skopje office and act as a key partner to the C-level team. This role requires someone with a
**strong technical background**
(ex-Tech Lead / Senior Engineer) who has transitioned into operations and leadership.

You will not be hands-on with development, but you must deeply understand how technical teams work in order to manage, scale, and optimise operations across the business.

**Key Responsibilities**

- Own and manage
**overall business operations**
, ensuring the company runs smoothly and efficiently
- Lead and manage the
**development team from an operational perspective**
(capacity, delivery, process, performance), without being hands-on in coding
- Act as a
**bridge between technical teams and C-level stakeholders**
, translating strategy into execution
- Oversee
**office and operational management**
, including processes, policies, tooling, and vendors
- Implement and optimise
**operational frameworks, workflows, and KPIs**
- Partner closely with the CEO and executive team on
**strategy, planning, and execution**
- Ensure alignment across departments and remove blockers to delivery
- Support hiring, onboarding, and team scaling in collaboration with leadership
- “Run the show” day to day, ensuring accountability, structure, and momentum across the business

**Requirements**

- Proven experience as a
**Head of Operations, Operations Manager, or similar senior role**
- **Strong technical background**
, ideally having previously worked as a
**Tech Lead, Senior Developer, or Engineering Manager**
- Experience managing
**software development teams**
at an operational/leadership level
- Comfortable operating at
**C-level**
, with the ability to challenge, influence, and execute
- Strong understanding of
**software development lifecycles and technical environments**
- Excellent organisational, leadership, and decision-making skills
- Ability to take ownership, work autonomously, and drive results in a fast-moving environment
