Job Description

Type of contract: Permanent

The HSE Specialist supports the HSE Leader in implementing health, safety, and environmental programs and conducting compliance assessments. The role focuses on ensuring adherence to Albanian legislation, international standards, and Sumitomo Group requirements. The position is based in TIRANA, ALBANIA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Ensuring the implementation of Health & Safety policies and procedures based on international standards and Albanian legislation.

·      
Inspect workplace environments, activities and conditions to verify compliance with local laws, regulations and SWS requirements.

·      
Conduct comprehensive inspections identifying occupational health and safety hazards, support and approve the risk assessment document.

·      
Conduct comprehensive inspections identifying environmental impacts.

·      
Compilation of reports with non-conformities identified during Health & Safety and Environment inspections and report to HSE Leader.

·      
Support HSE Leader in recommending solutions to issues, improvement opportunities or new prevention measures.

·      
Inspect and supervise work of contractors to ensure compliance with health, safety & environmental rules.

·      
Support the investigation of workplace accidents and assist in compiling reports.

·      
Assist and support HSE Leader during information and training of employees for Health and Safety Rules.

·      
Assist and support in conducting training sessions on safety protocols for employees.

·      
Conduct regular safety inspection of machinery to ensure full compliance with machine safety standards and machine manual.

·      
Advise employees during the working day for behavior safety.

·      
Follow up Sumitomo Group requests and ensure implementation of Safety Standards.

·      
Manage Environmental contracts and ensure compliance with Albanian Environmental Laws.

·      
Support Security Coordinator to ensure safety of employees.

Skills and Qualifications

·      
Excellent communication skills to effectively present data insights.

·      
Conduct safety inspections and report findings.

·      
Recommend safety improvements and training needs.

·      
Check documentation fulfillment.

·      
Have the authority to stop any kind of work exposed in health, safety and environmental risk and inform immediately HSE Leader.

·      
Have the authority to suspend the work of any employee that is performing unsafe behavior.

·      
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Safety Engineering, Environmental Science).

·      
Comprehensive knowledge of issues related to the operation of the Health Safety service.

·      
Understanding of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 labor laws, and safety regulations.

·      
Good communication, attention to detail, and teamwork capabilities.

·      
English (B2).

Experience required

·      
Minimum 1 year of experience in a health and safety role.

·      
Knowledge of Albanian occupational health and safety legislation.
