Production Engineer

1.Job Summary:

The Production Engineer will oversee manufacturing processes, and will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring health and safety codes are followed, training workers in the responsible use of machinery, identifying problems in the production line, troubleshooting equipment, and completing various administrative tasks.

2.Supervisory Responsibilities

2.1.Trains and manages production employees on the assigned shift.

2.2.Oversees the daily workflow and assignments of the production shift.

2.3.Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.

3.Duties/Responsibilities:

3.1.Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.

3.2.Liaising with other engineers to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labor required.

3.3.Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.

3.4.Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account, and that also minimize the carbon footprint.

3.5.Keeping abreast of advancements in engineering and production, and sharing knowledge with co-workers.

3.6.Identifying, documenting, and reporting unsafe practices.

3.7.Drawing up production schedules and budgets for projects.

3.8.Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.

3.9.Analysing all facets of production and making recommendations for improvement.

3.10.Obtaining any materials and equipment required.

3.11.Performs other related duties as assigned.

4.Required Skills/Abilities:

4.1.Knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design

4.2.Familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques

4.3.Commitment to health and safety standards and environmental regulations

4.4.Well-versed in relevant software (e.g. CAD, MS Office)

4.5.Problem-solving ability

4.6.Teamwork skills
