**Responsibilities**

This role is ideal for a senior frontend engineer who thrives in modern, component-driven environments and enjoys building scalable, high-performing customer-facing applications. You will work closely with product, design, backend, and platform teams to improve and modernize a complex e-commerce ecosystem currently supported by external agencies.

You will contribute to establishing stronger internal ownership of the frontend platform while helping define engineering standards, frontend architecture, and development practices that support long-term scalability and delivery quality.

The role combines hands-on engineering with architectural thinking, collaboration across disciplines, and influence on future frontend engineering direction within the new Tech Hub.

**What you will do**

**Frontend engineering & architecture**

- Develop and maintain modern frontend applications using React / Next.js and TypeScript
- Contribute to frontend architecture decisions with focus on scalability, maintainability, and performance
- Build reusable UI components and scalable design-system-driven solutions
- Optimize performance across rendering strategies (SSR / SSG / CSR), lazy loading, and Core Web Vitals
- Improve frontend reliability, accessibility, responsiveness, and SEO standards
- Collaborate closely with backend teams around APIs, integrations, and data flows
- Help establish frontend engineering standards, conventions, and best practices

**Product & design collaboration**

- Work closely with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, and business stakeholders
- Translate Figma designs and business requirements into high-quality production-ready experiences
- Ensure consistency between design systems and implementation
- Contribute to discussions around user experience, customer journeys, and frontend usability
- Support experimentation and optimization initiatives across the e-commerce experience

**Platform & delivery**

- Participate in CI/CD processes and modern frontend deployment workflows
- Improve observability, debugging, monitoring, and frontend operational maturity
- Support safe release processes and incremental improvements
- Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing across the engineering organization

**Team collaboration & mentoring**

- Mentor and support other frontend engineers
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews, and hiring processes
- Help foster a collaborative, quality-focused engineering culture
- Work closely with backend, DevOps, QA, and product teams in cross-functional setups

**Must-Have Qualifications**

**Frontend engineering**

- Advanced JavaScript and TypeScript experience in production environments
- Strong experience with React / Next.js or comparable modern frontend frameworks
- Strong understanding of component-driven architecture and reusable UI systems
- Experience with styling systems such as SCSS, Tailwind, Styled Components, or similar tooling
- Experience building responsive, accessible, and performance-oriented web applications
- Strong understanding of frontend rendering strategies (SSR / SSG / CSR)
- Experience optimizing frontend performance, loading strategies, and user experience

**E-commerce & integrations**

- Experience integrating frontend applications with headless CMS and headless commerce APIs
- Experience working with Backend for Frontend (BFF) architecture and API orchestration layers
- Good understanding of modern e-commerce customer journeys and frontend patterns
- Experience consuming REST and/or GraphQL APIs
- Familiarity with authentication and session management patterns

**Design systems & collaboration**

- Experience working closely with Figma or structured design systems
- Ability to translate design requirements into scalable frontend implementations
- Strong communication and stakeholder collaboration skills

**Delivery & engineering practices**

- Experience working within modern Git-based development workflows
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and frontend deployment practices
- Understanding of testing strategies and frontend quality assurance processes

**Nice-to-Have**

- Experience with WebGL or Three.js for interactive product visualization
- Experience with A/B testing and experimentation frameworks
- Experience with Storybook
- Exposure to modern headless commerce platforms such as CommerceTools
- Experience working in complex enterprise or global e-commerce environments
- Familiarity with observability and frontend monitoring tools
- Interest or experience in applied AI tools for engineering productivity
