**Role Overview**

We are seeking a
**Senior QA Engineer**
with strong experience in
**test automation**
,
**Android applications**
, and
**modern web stacks (Node.js + React)**
to lead quality assurance across Neon’s product suite.

You will be responsible for building and maintaining automated test frameworks, defining QA strategy, and ensuring high reliability across our backend services, web dashboards, and Android-based device applications.

This is a hands-on role with ownership of quality across core products, including Neon Screens, Neon Music, Neon Wi-Fi, and Neon Kiosk.

**Responsibilities**

**Test Strategy & Quality Ownership**

- Own the end-to-end QA strategy across backend, web, and Android products.
- Define test plans, regression strategies, and release sign-off criteria.
- Ensure product stability, performance, and reliability in real-world deployments.

**Automation & Framework Development**

- Design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks for:
- Backend APIs (Node.js services)
- Web applications (React dashboards, admin tools)
- Android applications (media players, kiosks, in-room TV apps)
- Implement CI-integrated automation for regression, smoke, and sanity tests.
- Continuously improve test coverage and execution speed.

**Release & Deployment Support**

- Partner with engineering and product teams to:
- Gate production releases
- Validate hotfixes and patches
- Reproduce and isolate production bugs
- Track defects and ensure timely resolution.

**Tooling & Process Improvement**

- Select and standardize QA tools and libraries.
- Improve bug reporting quality, triage workflows, and QA documentation.
- Establish QA best practices and quality metrics.

**Experience**

- 5+ years of experience in QA Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience in test automation.
- Hands-on experience testing:
- Android applications
- Node.js backend services
- React web applications

Technical Skills

- Strong experience with automation frameworks such as:
- Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or similar
- Android automation tools:
- Espresso, UIAutomator, Appium, or similar
- API testing:
- Postman, REST Assured, Supertest, or similar
- CI/CD:
- GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar
- Solid understanding of:
- REST APIs
- WebSockets
- Authentication flows
- Asynchronous systems

Engineering Mindset

- Ability to read and write automation code (JavaScript / TypeScript preferred).
- Comfortable debugging backend and frontend issues.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mentality.
- Ability to work independently and drive QA initiatives.

Nice-to-Have

- Experience testing:
- Media playback applications
- Streaming apps
- IoT or embedded devices
- Experience with:
- Docker
- Cloud platforms (AWS, GCP)
- Load testing tools (k6, JMeter, Locust)
- Experience in SaaS or B2B platforms.
- Prior startup experience.
