**Job Brief**
We're looking for an Academic Advisor who can help us choose the right classes, make a degree plan, and understand university policies.


**Academic Advisor Duties**

- Advise students on academic matters, including academic standing, graduation requirements, and graduation requirements
- Provide academic counseling
- Provide career counseling
- Work with faculty in the department to assist in the development of academic programming
- Provide support and assistance in all of the student services offices
- Evaluate students’ progress toward graduation
- Provide information and counseling on academic problems

**Academic Advisor Responsibilities**

- Train, guide, and advise students on academic planning, including curriculum, graduation requirements, and career opportunities
- Attend, lead, and participate in campus and department activities, including college, department, and student organization meetings
- Provide students with information and support on academic issues and campus resources, including career, educational, and financial aid information
- Assist students with identifying and pursuing personal, educational, and career goals
- Conduct career assessments, perform career counseling, and refer students to resources as appropriate

**Requirements And Skills**

- Bachelor’s degree in counseling or related field
- 3+ years of proven experience in advising college/university students
- Knowledge of college/university admissions requirements
- Ability to understand and communicate to students and their parents about financial aid options
- Ability to counsel students with personal, career and academic issues
