We are looking for a talented and experienced Backend Engineer to join Gamma Tech and help shape the future of modern financial systems through scalable and high-quality backend development. You will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining robust services and APIs that power our platform.

The ideal candidate has strong backend development experience, a solid understanding of system design principles, and a passion for building reliable, production-ready systems.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Design and implement backend services, APIs, and microservices using Go and modern architectural patterns
- Own the full lifecycle of services: from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance
- Build and manage scalable, event-driven systems using asynchronous processing and distributed architectures
- Work with SQL databases: design schemas, optimize queries, and manage complex data workflows
- Ensure code quality through test-driven development (TDD) and maintainable coding practices
- Implement security best practices including authentication, authorization, and data validation
- Deploy and manage services in containerized environments (Docker) and cloud platforms (e.g., GCP)
- Monitor system performance using logs, metrics, and tracing tools
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering practices
- Leverage AI tools to improve productivity, code quality, and development workflows

**Qualifications:**

- 3+ years of experience in backend development
- Strong proficiency in Go and experience building microservices
- Solid understanding of system design, domain modeling, and backend architectures
- Experience with SQL databases and transaction management
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures, pub/sub systems, and distributed systems
- Experience with containerization tools like Docker and cloud platforms such as GCP
- Strong understanding of testing practices and writing maintainable, testable code
- Ability to take ownership of services in production (“you build it, you run it”)
- Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies

**Nice to Have:**

- Experience in fintech or financial systems
- Familiarity with OpenAPI and API design standards
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Exposure to AI-assisted development tools
