Mechanical Design Engineer

On behalf of an Italian company operating in the field of design and manufacturing of unique components for the naval industry, we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer (Remote).
**Position Summary**
The main responsibility of this position is the development of mechanical projects through 3D modeling, the full management of assigned projects and orders, as well as continuous coordination and collaboration with the technical office team, in order to ensure quality, efficiency, and compliance with established deadlines.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Preparation of technical drawings using SolidWorks, Rhinoceros, AutoCAD, or other similar software
- Creation of 3D models
- Preparation of technical drawings for production
- Preparation of Bills of Materials (BOM) from CAD
- Definition of machining and manufacturing phases
*Preparation of production handover instructions:*
- Cutting plans for sheet metal
- 3D models for CNC machining
**Design Activities**
- Continuous collaboration with the technical office
- Research and development of optimal technical and economical solutions for new products or improvements to existing products
- Technical Documentation
- Technical monographs
- Assembly drawings and diagrams
- User and maintenance manuals
- Complete technical documentation for product definition
**Requirements and Skills**
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical drafting
- Knowledge of the Italian language (mandatory)
- Very good knowledge of 2D & 3D CAD software: SolidWorks / SolidEdge, Rhinoceros, AutoCAD
- Basic knowledge of Project Management and Lean Production
- In-depth knowledge of mechanics and manufacturing technologies
- Ability to manage costs and evaluate the economic feasibility of projects
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Results-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving skills
