Senior Android Engineer

Neon is a multi-product customer engagement platform powering digital signage, overhead music, guest Wi-Fi, kiosks, and in-room TV experiences for restaurants, retail, and hospitality brands. We build both software and hardware solutions and integrate deeply with POS, PMS, and enterprise platforms to help brands elevate guest experience at scale.


**Role Overview**
We are seeking a Senior Android Engineer to lead the development of Android-based applications powering Neon’s media players, kiosks, digital signage devices, and in-room TV platforms. This role is critical to delivering highly reliable, performant, and secure Android applications deployed across thousands of devices in commercial environments.

You will work closely with Product, Hardware, Backend, and DevOps teams to design and scale Android solutions that operate in high-availability, enterprise-grade environments.


**Responsibilities**
Architect, develop, and maintain Android applications for:


- Digital signage players
- Kiosk systems
- Hotel TV
- Music and content playback devices
- Build resilient applications designed for 24/7 uptime and remote management
- Integrate with REST APIs, real-time data pipelines, and device management systems (MDM)
- Optimize performance, memory usage, and hardware-level interactions
- Work with hardware teams on Android-based embedded systems
- Implement OTA updates, device provisioning, and remote diagnostics
- Enforce best practices around security, permissions, sandboxing, and DRM
- Collaborate on UI/UX for TV, tablet, and kiosk form factors
- Write clean, testable, scalable code and mentor junior engineers
- Participate in architecture reviews and product planning
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve monitoring/logging
