Senior Financial Controller

**We’re Hiring: Senior Financial Controller | Skopje**

Grant Thornton North Macedonia is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Financial Controller to join our growing Tax & Accounting Division in Skopje.

This role is ideal for a finance professional ready to lead complex financial operations, strengthen internal controls, oversee client financial governance, and act as a trusted advisor in a dynamic international environment.

**What You’ll Do**

As a Senior Financial Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring strong financial oversight, high‑quality reporting, and effective control environments for our clients. Your key responsibilities include:

**Financial Control & Reporting**

·      Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes

·      Review and validate financial statements, management reports, and analytical schedules

·      Ensure accuracy of GL postings, reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and adjustments

·      Maintain compliance with Macedonian GAAP, IFRS, and tax regulations

**Performance Management & Analysis**

·      Conduct variance analysis and report deviations from budgets and forecasts

·      Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to clients

·      Monitor KPIs, cash flow performance, working capital, CAPEX/OPEX trends

**Internal Controls & Process Oversight**

·      Assess and strengthen internal controls for assigned clients

·      Oversee accounting operations, workflows, and documentation standards

·      Identify process gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives

**Advisory & Client Management**

·      Deliver high‑value tax, accounting, and financial control advisory

·      Act as the primary point of contact for client management teams

·      Liaise with auditors, legal advisors, and financial institutions

**What You Bring**

·      Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related

·      
**5+ years of experience**
in finance, financial control, accounting, or audit

·      Strong knowledge of Macedonian accounting standards, IFRS, and tax rules

·      Experience with financial analysis, reporting, and month/year-end closings

·      Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities

·      Excellent command of English (written and spoken)

·      Advanced skills in Excel and professional accounting systems

·      High integrity, accountability, and a client-focused mindset
