Frontend Engineer (Next.js / React)

Sim Sector Studios is looking for a Frontend Engineer to design, build, and maintain modern, high-performance user interfaces for our web and gaming applications. Based in North Macedonia, this full-time role requires a strong engineering mindset focused on performance, usability, scalability, and clean, maintainable code. **Responsibilities** - Design, develop, and maintain responsive, high-quality user interfaces using **Next.js, React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS** . - Build scalable and reusable component-based architectures. - Optimize applications for maximum speed, performance, and cross-browser compatibility. - Implement modern UI/UX patterns with a focus on accessibility and user experience. - Collaborate closely with backend engineers to integrate APIs and ensure seamless data flow. - Manage client-side state efficiently using modern state management solutions. - Implement server-side rendering (SSR), static site generation (SSG), and edge rendering strategies where appropriate. - Ensure code quality through testing, linting, and adherence to best practices. - Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve frontend performance and production issues. - Work with design teams to translate UI/UX designs into functional applications. - Contribute to frontend architecture decisions and engineering standards. - Support CI/CD processes and help improve deployment workflows. - Participate in code reviews and contribute to a strong engineering culture. **Requirements** - Strong experience with **React** , **Next.js** , and **TypeScript** . - Solid understanding of modern frontend development principles and best practices. - Experience building responsive and adaptive UI using **Tailwind CSS** or similar frameworks. - Deep understanding of component-driven development and reusable UI patterns. - Experience consuming RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL services. - Familiarity with SSR, SSG, and frontend performance optimization techniques. - Strong knowledge of JavaScript (ES6+) and browser APIs. - Experience with version control systems like Git. - Understanding of frontend testing (e.g., Jest, React Testing Library). - Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and modern development pipelines. - Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a focus on clean code. - Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional team. **Nice to Have** - Experience with animation libraries (e.g., Framer Motion). - Experience with Three.js for building 3D and immersive web experiences. - Familiarity with design systems and component libraries. - Experience with real-time applications (WebSockets, live updates). - Knowledge of SEO best practices and web performance metrics (Core Web Vitals). - Experience working on gaming platforms or interactive applications. - Exposure to headless CMS platforms (e.g., Contentful, Sanity). - Understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG). **Benefits** - **Adaptability** — tailor your working hours or embrace remote work to maximize efficiency. - **Time for Yourself** — three extra paid days annually on top of your regular vacation allowance. - **Competitive Compensation** — salary that reflects your level of experience. - **Cutting Edge Office Entertainment** — professional racing simulators in-office.
