At **people+** , we are supporting our client **Proton.ai** in expanding their engineering team and are looking for **Mid and Senior Fullstack Software Engineers** to join them remotely. **Proton.ai** is building the AI operating system for wholesale distribution, an industry responsible for moving nearly every physical product around the world. Their platform unifies CRM, PIM, eCommerce AI, and Order & Quote Entry AI into one ecosystem, helping distributors automate manual work and enabling sales teams to focus more on their customers. This is an opportunity for software engineers who want to work in an **AI-native engineering environment** , take real ownership of products, and build software end-to-end. **What you’ll do** - Own features end-to-end, from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and iteration - Work across the full stack, including frontend, backend, databases, integrations, and infrastructure - Use AI coding agents as an integral part of the daily development process - Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, engineers, and occasionally customers - Design scalable APIs, schemas, queries, and software solutions - Contribute to architecture, engineering practices, tooling, and better ways of leveraging AI across the development lifecycle - Occasionally visit customer sites to better understand their workflows and technical environments **What we’re looking for** - **Mid-level:** approximately 2–5 years of professional software engineering experience - **Senior-level:** 5–6+ years of professional software engineering experience - Daily hands-on use of AI development tools is a must, including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode, or similar agentic development tools - Strong software engineering fundamentals, including software design, architecture, design patterns, databases, and system thinking - Demonstrated experience delivering production software and taking ownership beyond individual coding tasks - A generalist, fullstack mindset and willingness to work across different technologies and layers of the product - Ability to understand, evaluate, and validate AI-generated code rather than relying on AI to replace engineering fundamentals - Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment - **Fluent English communication skills** - High level of ownership, autonomy, and willingness to learn **Previous Python experience is not required.** Proton.ai is looking for strong software engineers who are willing to work with and transition to Python where needed.
