**Role Description**
The PhD Candidate in Business and Technology will be engaged in advanced academic research, focusing on topics at the intersection of business management, digital transformation, innovation, and emerging technologies. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting literature reviews, designing research methodologies, collecting and analyzing data, and preparing research papers for conferences and journals. The candidate will participate in seminars, workshops, and departmental meetings, and may support teaching activities such as assisting in undergraduate or master’s courses and supervising student projects. Collaboration with academic supervisors and research teams to develop and refine the dissertation project will be a key component of the role. This is an on-site role located in Albania, requiring regular presence at Western Balkans University and active participation in the campus research community.
**Qualifications**
- Strong foundation in business, management, economics, or a related field, with interest in technology and innovation.
- Demonstrated research skills, including literature review, research design, data collection, and quantitative and/or qualitative analysis.
- Excellent academic writing and communication skills in English, with the ability to present complex ideas clearly.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, manage time effectively, and meet research and academic deadlines.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Business, Economics, Technology Management, or a related discipline; prior research experience is an advantage.
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms used in research and teaching (e.g., statistical software, reference management tools, learning management systems).
- Motivation to contribute to interdisciplinary projects and to the academic development of Western Balkans University.
- Strong ethical standards, critical thinking skills, and commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
