Quipu plays a central role within the ProCredit group, providing a comprehensive range of support services that enable the banks to become competitive and efficient. **General description of the position** As a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Quipu, you will assume a leadership role, alongside with ensuring the delivery of high-quality software products to our banks and customers. In addition to applying both manual and automated testing methodologies, your responsibilities will extend to mentoring junior and mid-level engineers, leading QA activities within the development team, and actively participating in continuous improvement initiatives by being proactive and data-driven. The successful candidate will demonstrate forceful communication skills, leadership skills, attention to details, and effective collaboration within Agile activities. **What your key responsibilities will be:** - Mentor and guide junior and mid-level QA engineers, coaching them on test pyramid thinking, automation-first practices, and how to write testable, maintainable tests - Review and validate requirements and technical specifications early — before development starts — to identify ambiguity, missing acceptance criteria, and testability gaps - Design and implement test plans and test cases across the full pyramid: unit, API, integration, and E2E — matched to risk, not just coverage percentage - Perform exploratory and risk-based testing to surface defects that automated suites miss, with clear, reproducible bug reports - Lead bug management and regression strategy — track defect trends, identify root causes, and use metrics to drive process improvements rather than just report numbers - Proactively improve test automation framework architecture and QA processes — leave every codebase more testable than you found it - Build and maintain automation frameworks for web, mobile, API, and database layers using Playwright, TypeScript, and Appium — with a focus on reliability, speed, and maintainability - Own CI/CD quality gate design and integration — automated tests should be a trusted delivery signal, not a noise source - Perform advanced testing of APIs, databases, and backend services to validate system reliability, data integrity, and error handling - Manage testing efforts across multiple projects under tight deadlines — prioritizing by risk and business impact, not just task order - Communicate test results, quality metrics, and risk clearly to engineering, product, and where relevant, external stakeholders - Work closely with product and engineering managers to define quality goals and embed them into the definition of done - Participate actively in test planning, sprint ceremonies, and product lifecycle discussions — quality input belongs at the start, not the end - Maintain a pragmatic balance between manual exploratory testing and automated coverage — automate what is stable and high-risk, explore what is uncertain **Skills and experience we expect from you:** - Test framework design across unit, component, API, integration, and E2E layers - API testing including schema validation, contract testing, and error state coverage - Database and backend service testing for data integrity and reliability - CI/CD pipeline integration with automated quality gates (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps) - Mocking, stubbing, and service virtualization for fast, isolated test execution - Test coverage, monitoring, and observability tooling - Bug and ticket tracking using JIRA, Azure DevOps, or equivalent - Proficiency in TypeScript or JavaScript; C# is a plus - 5+ years of experience **What we offer:** - Excellent team-oriented, dynamic and international working environment - Challenging, engaging and varied tasks - Personal and technical skills development with certified trainings - Modern workspace at East Gate Mall - Skopje - Hybrid model of working (100 home office days) - Travel possibilities - 25 paid vacation days - Private health insurance If you like wild growth and working with happy, enthusiastic over-achievers, you'll enjoy your career with us!
