🧾 Job Title: Lead Full-Stack AI Developer 📍 Location: Tirana, Albania (On-site) 🕒 Schedule: Full-time | Monday – Friday, 15.00-23.00 We are building **Smart Study OS** , an AI-powered learning platform for students in grades 6–12. At the center of the product is **Kaia** , a proprietary AI tutor designed around a structured, cognitive learning methodology—purpose-built for effective learning, not a generic chatbot. We are seeking a **Lead Full-Stack AI Developer** to take full ownership of the end-to-end technical development of the platform. **Role Overview** This is a **high-ownership, solo engineering role (Phase 1)** . The selected candidate will: - Build and launch an MVP within **4–5 weeks** - Support a closed beta of 20+ families - Evolve the MVP into a full-scale, multi-page AI academic platform You will be responsible for **system architecture, infrastructure, AI integration, and overall product reliability from day one** . The founder will provide all AI behavior specifications, including system prompts, tool definitions, schemas, and evaluation scenarios. Your role is to implement, operationalize, and ensure system performance and correctness. **Phase 1: MVP (Weeks 1–5)** Deliver a functional AI tutoring workspace including: - Streaming AI chat (Anthropic API integration) - Voice input and document upload (PDF/DOCX parsing) - Cross-session student memory system - Tool use / function calling and AI routing logic - Structured AI-generated study artifacts rendered in the UI - Secure, invite-only beta environment - Session logging and system monitoring **Phase 2: Product Expansion** Following MVP launch, the platform will scale into a full academic operating system, including: - Multi-page learning environment - Vector-based knowledge base with semantic search - Background job processing pipelines - Subscription billing (Stripe) - Parent communication and weekly reporting - AI usage controls and cost optimization - Child safety and compliance infrastructure **Key Responsibilities** - Own full-stack system architecture (frontend, backend, AI orchestration, infrastructure) - Implement reliable LLM orchestration (streaming, tool use, system prompts) - Design and maintain student memory and retrieval systems - Build structured AI output pipelines and UI rendering systems - Manage production deployment and iterative beta releases - Monitor system performance, reliability, and AI behavior quality - Develop a clean, scalable, and well-documented codebase for future team expansion **Required Experience** - 5+ years of full-stack software development experience - 2+ years building production applications using LLM APIs **Strong proficiency in:** - Next.js (TypeScript, App Router, Server Components, API routes) - LLM APIs (Anthropic or OpenAI), including tool/function calling - Supabase (Postgres, Authentication, Storage, RLS) - AI streaming and prompt/system design - Document processing (PDF/DOCX parsing) - Structured JSON generation from LLM outputs - Production deployment using Vercel **Technology Stack** **Phase 1 (Core Requirements)** - Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind CSS, shadcn/ui - Anthropic API - Supabase (Auth, Database, Storage) - PDF/DOCX parsing tools - Vercel, GitHub - Voice input APIs (Web Speech API, Whisper/Groq fallback) **Phase 2 (Scalable Infrastructure)** - pgvector, Voyage AI - BullMQ, Redis - Stripe (billing infrastructure) - Cloudflare Workers (AI gateway layer) - Sentry, PostHog, Helicone - Resend (transactional email) - Fly.io (background workers) **Ideal Candidate Profile:** - Comfortable owning a product end-to-end - Strong system design and architectural thinking - Experience shipping production-grade AI features - Proactive communicator who identifies risks and trade-offs early - Writes clean, maintainable, and well-documented code **Important Notes:** - This is a **high-ownership, solo engineering role** - MVP delivery timeline is **4–5 weeks** - The product serves students; **safety, reliability, and correctness are core requirements** - The codebase must be production-ready and designed for future team scaling 📩 Interested?
